Moodbidri: Prabhalekhana Ratna Award for Ace Photojournalist Yajna Mangalore

Moodbidri, Aug 19: ‘Prabhalekhana Ratna’, an award meant for photographic excellence, will be conferred on ace photographer and studio owner Yajna Mangalore, on Wednesday August 19, at the award ceremony to be held at Mahaveer College, here. The programme is being jointly organized by Udupi Press Photographers Association, Mahaveer College Literature and Art Club and Shree College Students Union, here.
The programme will be inaugurated by Walter Nandalike, editor-in-chief and managing director of Daijiworld Media Private Limited, at Mahaveer College auditorium, here at 9.30 am on Wednesday.
SKF Group of Concerns chairman and managing director G Ramakrishna Achar will present ‘Prabhalekhana Ratna’ award to Yajna Mangalore.
Tulu and Kannada litterateur Jayanti S Bangera will inaugurate the photo exhibition of Yajna Mangalore, being arranged on this occasion.
Ace photographer Yajna Mangalore is known all over the nation, for his classic black and white pictures that have been published along with various reports, in both national and local media since the last about four and a half decades. He has captured rare, memorable moments of many stalwarts, politicians, ministers and prime ministers during various national level programmes. He has organized over a hundred photo exhibitions in the undivided Dakshina Kannada, Shimoga and Kasargod districts. He also has in his collection, over 300 black and white photos of legendary Kannada poet and litterateur Dr Shivaram Karant.
