Abu Dhabi, Aug 23: Konkani Cultural Organisation (KCO), premier organisation in UAE will host veteran Konkani dramatist Francis Fernandes Cascia's record-breaking play 'Matharo Chorbela' at the Indian High School Hall here on Sep 24, 2009.
As announced earlier on Daijiworld, Konkani drama enthusiasts from UAE will recall that this comedy play was staged in Dubai more than a year back with all lead artistes from Dubai. But, the speciality this time around is that all the artistes will be flown in from Mumbai and have been part of record breaking 37 shows presented all around Gulf and India.
The play is written by Francis Fernandes Cascia and directed by Joy Paladka.
Abu Dhabi's show will go into the record as 38th show.
"I have a target to stage at least 50 shows within this year. Mhataro Chorbela has been receiving tremendous response from the audience whenever staged. The play has already been staged in Kuwait, Doha, Mumbai, Bangalore, Mysore, Chickmagalur, and various parts of Mangalore and Udupi," says Francis Fernandes Cascia speaking to Daijiworld from Mumbai, where he is holidaying.
"I have also planned a new play and very soon we will announce the title and date for the show. Probably new play can be staged somewhere early next year,” he says.
Leo Rodrigues, KCO president informed Daijiworld that as Abu Dhabi will host a single show and that too after a big gap a full-fledged Konkani play is being staged here, there is all possibility that the show will be packed and therefore requested people to reserve entry passes well in advance to avoid any disappointment later.
More details on the show will be updated on Daijiworld from time to time.
