Mangalore: Rev Dr J S Sadanand is New CSI Bishop

Mangalore, Aug 27: Rev Dr Sadanand will be consecrated as the Bishop of Karnataka South Diocese, through a religious ceremony to be held at Balmatta Church of South India (CSI) Shanti Cathedral in the city on Friday August 28.
Moderator of the Church of South India, Fr J W Gladston, will be guiding the consecration procedures, on the occasion of the enthronement of the new Bishop.
Rev Dr J S Sadanand is a native of Udupi. After being ordained into religious order through pastoral formation in the year 1969, he joined Karnataka Theological College here as lecturer in the year 1974. In 1983, he secured his doctorate from Coettingen University in Germany. He has been functioning as the principal of Karnataka Theological College and the secretary of Karnataka Christian Educational Society. Dr Sadanand is also the honorary president of the Senate of Serampore College.
As the Bishop, Rev Dr J S Sadanand will have jurisdiction over CSI churches located in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Kodagu, Chikmagalur, Hassan, Mandya, Mysore, and Chamarajnagar districts in Karnataka apart from Kasargod district in Kerala and Talavadi district in Tamil Nadu.
