Mangalore: Rev Dr John Stephen Sadananda Installed CSI Bishop

Mangalore, Aug 28: Dr John Stephen Sadananda was consecrated and installed as Bishop of the Church of South India (CSI), Karnataka Southern Diocese, by Moderator of the Church of South India Dr J W Gladstone at Shanthi Cathedral, Balmatta, on Friday August 28.
The ceremony was held in the presence of brother bishops and officers of the CSI synod. Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Mangalore Diocese, Bishop Vasanth Kumar from Bangalore, Bishop Yesuvara Prasad, Bishop Kuruvilla, Bishop C L Futrado, and other renowned guests took part in the rituals.
The ceremony included ministry of words and hymns by the congregation.
The consecration was followed by a congregation prayer inviting the presence of the Holy Spirit, as the Bishop-elect kneeled in front of the Moderator. The Moderator also delivered a copy of the Bible as a token of authority and presented the pastoral staff.
Lay officers of the dioceses, diocesan secretary, and representatives from all the sections of diocese also took part in the installation rituals.
The Bishop followed all the rituals including intercession. The ceremony concluded with the congregational hymn after the breaking of bread and sharing it. Members and devotees of CSI were also in attendance.
