Bengalouru, Nov 30: The central government has provided relief to those who have failed to procure FASTag before December 1, and hence were worrying about having to wait in queues and pay double the toll charges at toll plazas. FASTag use has been now made compulsory from December 15 onward.
The union ministry of highways said that this extension has been given to provide some more time for the citizens to get FASTag.

FASTag has been made available in toll booths, banks, and online. Still, there is yawning gap between demand and supply and people are made to queue up to get FASTag. FASTag at the tollgates get exhausted in no time.

Sun, Dec 01 2019I feel skeptical about commenting on the subject matter.According to me,fast tag system is very good in order to save the precious time instead of toiling in the que.But government can not make it compulsory or mandatory because it is purely up to the vehicle owners whether or not to install fast tag.People who have the patience to stand in the que don't have to install the fast tag and people who do not have the patience to wait in the que and reach their designated destitution on time, can go for fast tag otherwise don't have to bother.Penalizing the vehicle owner double the amount of normal charges, who do not install fast tag is totally unjustified and uncalled for.On what ground, government can justify. This ploy of pressurizing and threatening the vehicle owners is just to loot the money from the public.Otherwise what is the logic behind to charge double the amount of normal charge,if we don't install the tag.Only because government has said to install the tag,we have to install.Introducing fast tag system is always welcome in order to save the time and unnecessary arguments with the toll gate staff for trivial reasons. But in the name of fast tag, vehicle owners should not be heavily taxed.Where all we have to pay taxes-at the time of purchasing vehicles, when we go the restaurants, hotels, when we buy day to day groceries from the grocery shop or reputed malls and income tax. After paying taxes everywhere, what is remaining in common man's pocket. He is always under pressure, tension and go mad one day.Is this is "Accha Din" for common people like me.Very sad.Wrong administrators are placed in right government seats but the result is harassment to the common man.
