Mangalore, Sep 5: The School of Social work at Roshni Nilaya, celebrated `Expressions-09, the midas touch’, an intercollegiate competition, on Saturday, September 5.
Dr Hazel D Lima, Superior general, Daughters of the heart of Mary inaugurated the programme which was held at the college auditorium.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal of the College, Dr Jacinta D’Souza said that the institution is celebrating its golden jubilee year, and the event is part of this celebration that aptly realizes the motto of the Institution, ‘love is made fruitful in service.’
Various teams from different colleges of the city participated in the event. There were several cultural and literary events like Brain wave, Web creator, Pen and present, Funny side up, Comedy circus, Gold Mine (Treasure hunt) face painting, Stardust (Mock Dress) and contemporary dance.
Gokuldas Shenoy, Senior manager, State bank of India, Kankanady branch distributed the prizes to the winners at the valedictory function held in the evening.
Dr Jacinta D Souza, Principal of the college, Flossy Rayappan, Student Welfare Officer, Andrea D Lobo, Student Union President and Secretary Sunitha K were present
