Udupi: Swami Vikyatanand Urges Societal Organizations to Prioritize Education

If the social welfare and voluntary organizations lay higher significance to education, as per the doctrines of Brahmashree Narayan Guru who propagated that education leads to integral development of a human being, said Sri Vikyatanand Swami of Bolyottu mutt, Hosmar, near here.
 
He was speaking at the birth anniversary of Narayan Guru, a contemporary visionary who preached equality in the society. The programme was held at Billava Sangh, Ucchil, here on Saturday September 5.


 
The societal organizations should guide the youth to take up social causes. The veteran citizens and societal organizations should jointly lead the youth to progressive path, Swami Vikyatanand urged.
 
Ucchila Saraswati Higher Primary School retired headmaster Annayya Poojary called on the youth, to follow the doctrines of Guru Narayan, in order to lead meaningful life.
 
Ucchila Billava Sangh president Ganesh D Poojary presided. Ucchila Bada gram panchayat president Yashoda Kumar Kotian, veteran social worker G B Salian Kaipunjal, Bank of Baroda officer Ramdas B Kotian, Ucchil Billava Sangh honorary president Suru C Karkera and Women wing president Shobha Laxman were the chief guests on the occasion.
 
The prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions that were held on the occasion of Narayan Guru Jayanti.
 
Ganesh D Poojary welcomed the gathering.  Treasurer Dhananjay B Amin proposed the vote of thanks.  Secretary Anil Kumar compered the programme.
