Udupi: KRS Academy, Katpady Wins Inaugural Match of under 12 International Cricket Tournament

Udupi, Sep 20:
  The KRS Cricket Academy under-12 boys team is jubilant, after defeating  Hubli Cricket Club with a margin of eight wickets in the inaugural  match of KRS Trophy International Cricket Tournament, held at MIT ground,  here on Friday September 18.  
 
Hubli Cricket Club was bundled out for 70 runs in 24.3 overs.  Chethan and Shubam scored 31 runs each. Nikhil took two wickets for 12 runs and Yashwith took two wickets for 16 runs. The KRS cricket Academy of Katpady easily reached the target with the loss of just two wickets.  Shubham G and Shubham C of Hubli scalped a wicket each.   


 
Brahmavar SMS College principal Prof Narayanan inaugurated the tournament. 
 
Former state minister Vasant V Salian presided over the function.
 
Balakrishna of Netaji Sports Club, Parkala was the guest of honour during the inaugural match.
 
This tournament was organized by KRS Cricket Academy, Katpady.  A total of eight teams from Bahrain, Dubai, Hubli, Mysore, Katpady, Kodagu, Udupi and Bangalore are taking part in the tournament. 
 
Former Ranji cricketer James Wilson, sports correspondent Shankaranarayan, physical director Dr Kemparaj, Chandrashekar Hegde, Gregory D’Silva, Sathyanaryana Nayak, cricket umpire Ronal Pinto, were honoured during function. 
 
KRS Academy secretary Uday Kumar proposed vote of thanks.  Both Vijay Alva and Y S Rao were involved in organizing tournament.
 
Rajesh led the Bahrain team.
