Renowned Kannada Activist Uluruguttu Vaman Shetty Passes Away

Mumbai, Sep 22:
Uluruguttu Vaman Shetty, renowned Kannada activist, philanthropist and correspondent of metro-based Adishakti Kannada Medium School, Majiwada passed away following a heart attack on Saturday September 19. His funeral was held at Chakala-Parsiwada on Sunday September 20.



His body was kept for public viewing at his residence Bajigara Nivas, Marol in Andheri (West) where thousands poured in to pay their last respect. Shetty is survived by wife, three sons and daughter. 
 
Nandikoor Janajagruti Samiti, Mumbai president Manohar Shetty, Jayasrikrishna Parisara Premi Samiti (NGO) founder Tonse Jayakrishna Shetty, president Vishwanath U Mada, Bunts Sangh president Aikala Harish Shetty, Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha – Maharashtra president Chandrashekar Palettady, Shafi Welfare Association – Mumbai president lawyer B Mohiddin Mundkoor, Canara Catholic Association president Harry R Sequeira Ferrar, Ganiga Samaj Seva Sangh – Mumbai president Jagannath Ganiga, Bhandary Seva Sangh, Mumbai president Balakrishna P Bhandary and Tiya Samaj – Mumbai president Chandrashekar Belchada among others offered the last respect.

    He was a selfless and loving person, a charismatic leader and an honest human being. He was a support for not just his own family but for anyone in need, irrespective of caste, creed or religion. I am proud to be his son. I love you dad and miss you a lot.
