Goregaon Rosary Church Celebrates Monti Fest

Mumbai, Sep 23: Mangalorean Konkani community of Our Lady of Rosary Church, Goregaon (West) celebrated Monti Fest at the parish hall, recently.



Fr Evan D’Souza and Fr Navil Rodrigues conducted the Konkani Mass at 7 am.

Godwin Menezes gave introduction to the mass. Children with flowers along with the elders gathered in the school ground for the Novena of our Lady of Nativity. They showered flower petals on mother Mary. Bishop Percival Fernandez blessed the paddy corn and led the Novena.

The cultural programme was held in the parish hall. Genevieve Correa highlighted the importance of Monti Fest and Novem Jevon. Lolita and Velita presented a beautiful prayer dance. Children enthralled the crowd by singing JAI KONKANI song in a group.

Sannora Correa, Denora, Daren Menezes, Jennifer and Lester presented melodious songs. Adriuon, Priya, Lolita and other school children presented various dances. Johnson and group presented a Konkani skit.

Sangeet Samrat Henry D'Souza, Fr Navil Rodrigues, Bishop Percival Fernandez, Lobo and Fr Francis Xavier were present on the dais.
