Udupi: Signature Campaign for ‘Vishwa Mangala Go Yatra’ Begins

Udupi, Sep 30:
  K P Acharya, honorary president of Sri Hosa Marigudi temple committee, inaugurated the signature campaign for the ‘Vishwa Mangala Go Yatra’ in Kaup, near here, on Monday September 28.


 
Addressing the gathering, he said that the Yatra was being organized to create awareness on conserving villages, to encourage organic farming, to make use of cattle waste, to create awareness about the plastic menace, and to restore underground water aquifers.
 
Acharya urged the people to extend their support to the Yatra on the occasion. Y Prafulla Shetty, managing trustee of Sri Vishwanath Temple, Yellur, was the chief guest.
 
Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon, KMF former president Kaup Divakar Shetty, Dharani Samaj Seva president Leeladar Shetty, Ganeshotsav committee president Ramesh Mendon, TP member Jagdish Acharya, Kaup BJP president Ravindra Shetty Kollabettu, and heads of various village committees under Kaup were present on the occasion.
 
Committee president Nadikere Ratnakar Shetty welcomed.  Convener Kutyar Prasad Shetty delivered the introductory address.  Shantaram Prabhu proposed the vote of thanks while Radhakrishna Prabhu compered the programme.
