Moodbidri: Dr Hampa Nagarajayya Elected to Chair Alva’s Nudisiri on Nov 6

Moodbidri, Oct 1:
Dr Hampa Nagarajayya (Hampa Na), veteran Kannada litterateur and researcher will chair Alva’s Nudi Siri – 2009, a national cultural extravaganza organized annually by Alva’s Education Foundation, here. 

Alva’s Nudisiri will be held at Vidyagiri complex of Alva’s Education Foundation here from Friday November 6 to Sunday November 9, announced Alva’s Education Foundation chairman Dr M Mohan Alva.
 
Hampa Na, a native of Kolar and served as Kannada professor in various colleges and also at Kannada Study Centre of Bangalore University for 37 years. He has authored over 70 books on language science, anthology, novel, composition, biography, critical literature, research, folklore, translation, children literature and history of literature among others. He has also published 11 books in English. 
 
Hampa Na has also served as president of Kannada Sahitya Parishad, director of Jain Research Centre, Bangalore and Kannada Study Centre of Bangalore University, dean of arts of Bangalore University and managing trustee of Prakrata Jnana Bharathi Education Trust among others. 
 
Siddalinga Swamiji of Gadag and Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala dharmadikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade will grace the inaugural of Alva’s Nudisiri and Kannada veteran scholar Dr K V Narayan will inaugurate Alva’s Nudisiri.
 
Sri Siddalinga Swamiji of Gadag will deliver valedictory address at 3.00 pm on Sunday November 8. Dharmadikari Dr Veerendra Heggade will confer Alva’s Nudi Siri Award on the day, Dr M Mohan Alva stated in a press release.
