Margao, Oct 1: Chief Minister (CM) Digambar Kamat has informed that the state government has decided to appoint P V Asnani as the consultant for the proposed Sonsodo garbage treatment plant.
Kamat was addressing a meeting of the state officials on the issue of Sonsodo Garbage Treatment Plant, held at the Collectorate here on Tuesday September 29. Urban development minister Joaquim Alemao, legislators Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, Damodar Naik, chairperson of Margao Municipal Council, Savio Coutinho, also attended the meeting.
The CM further said that the consultation is felt necessary to oversee the technical aspects of the project.
Asnani is also a member of the committee appointed by the Supreme Court on solid waste management, the CM added.
