Nirbhaya case death-row convict moves trial court


New Delhi, Jan 15 (IANS): Soon after the Delhi High Court refused to interfere with the death warrant issued against the four convicts in the Nirbhaya gang-rape and murder case, Mukesh, a convict, moved the Patiala House Court, here on Wednesday.

He filed an application appraising the court regarding pendency of the mercy petition before the President.

Moved through counsel Vrinda Grover, the petitioner has sought postponement of the execution date.

The application was heard by Additional Sessions Judge Satish Kumar Arora who issued notice to Nirbhaya's parents and the state.

The next hearing is on Thursday.
