Udupi: Town Council Pays Tribute to the Mahatma

Udupi, Oct 2:
State home minister Dr V S Acharya garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi located near Bhujanga Park, Ajjarkad, here on Friday October 2, to mark the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations organized by the town council.

Dr Acharya, speaking on the occasion, said that the principles of non-violence as propagated by Gandhi are still effective both in India and other countries.  “The state administration has committed itself to realizing the dream of a stronger India, with a literary drive which could lead the country towards prosperity in a short time”, he added.


 
MLA Raghupathy Bhat, town councilor Dinakar Shetty, mayor Gokuldas Nayak, DC Hemalata P, and Fisheries Marketing Federation president Yashpal Suvarna were present on the occasion.
