Mangalore, Oct 10: “We want more Indian industries in UK and UK industries in this city as part of a business relationship”, said Richard Hyde, deputy high commissioner, Bangalore, on Friday October 9.
Speaking at an interaction session with Mangalorean entrepreneurs along with his team of colleagues he said, “There are highly advanced companies in the UK which will be attracted to the Indian market. The same type of business companies in India can be established in the UK with the intention of global relations”.
“The British deputy commission in Bangalore is not only for that city, but also for all of Karnataka. The state government has assured us of establishing business sectors in the state”, he said adding that the Commission has been engaged in meetings with several entrepreneurs in the state to expand business in the UK.
Hyde further said that the high commission has been in touch with Mangalore city after realizing that it is suitable for investment from UK companies. He also recalled his meeting with the deputy commissioner (DC) of the district.
“Disturbances or any other problems in this city will not be effective in the long run as we have spoken to politicians, officials in India, particularly in this city”, he said adding that there are positive assurances on maintaining global security and relationship.
Hyde and his team interacted with interested entrepreneurs in the city on the trade and investment possibilities in the UK. The programme was arranged by the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI). KCCI vice-president G Mohandas Prabhu was present on the occasion.
The British deputy high commission was inaugurated in Bangalore last month by Karnataka Governor H R Bharadwaj. It can be recalled that the deputy high commissioner-designate had visited last March with this plan and a proposal of business relationship between the countries.
