Mangalore, Oct 13: Five education institutions under Mangalore University will come under Centre for Excellence said union minister for law and justice M Veerappa Moily at the inaugural of block donated by Bangalore-based entrepreneurs Dr P Dayananda Pai and P Sathish Pai at Mangalore University College, Hampanakatta here on Tuesday October 13. 

Speaking on the occasion, minister Moily said that five colleges including University College, St Aloysius College, St Ann’s College and School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya will come under the Centre for Excellence. He also suggested that the syllabus should be changed every year by adopting innovative steps and modifying with new contexts. Each subject has its own importance and potential so students in these colleges should also excel like the students at the professional colleges, he added.





































`The University College, the then Government College has produced eminent personalities to the world, who have ben honoured with high level posts in various fields in the society. Students of this college were also initiated into the freedom struggle and hencehas its own significance, with all dimensions’ he said. 

District in-charge minister J Krishna Palemar, entrepreneurs Dr P Dayananda Pai and P Sathish Pai, Prof K M Kaveriappa, Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University, principal of Mangalore University College Laxminarayana Bhat, U K Basu, managing director of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Private Limited and Mangalore MLA U T Khader were present.

    i heartly congratulate dr.dayananda pai..i dunno who he is but oflate i have heard great things about this man..he is doin great job..i think we must all salute him for doing such a good deeds even though he is very rich..i want to know more about him

    The then Government College of Mangalore had a unique record impartingh excellent education. Today it has grown into University College of Mangalore. I as a old boy of Govt College feel proud to be collegemate of Mr. Veerappa Moily who reached the top in the state as chief minister and now Union Minister of law.
