Panaji, Feb 1 (IANS): Two foreigners, who had travelled to Goa from China in the recent past, were on Saturday quarantined to an isolation ward of a government hospital after they developed symptoms of coronavirus, a top official said.
Shivanand Bandadkar, the dean of Goa Medical College, a top state government facility, told reporters that samples drawn from the two suspect patients have been sent to the National Institute of Virology in Pune for examination.
"The reports will be available within a few days," the official said.
The two were admitted to a private hospital with symptoms associated with coronavirus, before they were admitted to the isolation ward of the government hospital on Saturday.
Bandadkar also said that another suspect, a Serbian national, who had been suspected of being affected by coronavirus and was admitted to the isolation ward earlier this week, was discharged after test reports were negative.
