Chikmagalur: Valedictory Ceremony of ‘Konkani Pathi’ Residential Camp on Oct 18

The valedictory ceremony of ‘Konkani Pathi’ residential camp will be held at 6.00 pm on Sunday October 18 at St Anthony’s parish, here. 

The programme has been jointly organized by Konkani Rakan Sanchalan, Mudigere unit, Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy, Chikmagalur–Hassan, and Mandd Sobhann, Mangalore. 
 
Konkani Rakan Sanchalan is engaged in promoting sustenance of Konkani in every way including liturgical services especially in the Malnad region of Karnataka.

Konkani Pathi residential camp aims to instill love for Konkani among the children of Konkans residing in the Malnad region.  The term ‘Pathi’ in Konkani means ‘sowing seeds in a field ploughed by oxen’.   
 
Narayan Karvi Kundapur, president, Konkani Sahitya Academy, will be the chief guest on the occasion.
 
Fr John Herald D’Souza, editor of ‘Sevak’ Konkani family monthly, Eric Ozario, camp director and Gurkar of Mandd Sobhann, and Cyril Rebello, president of Konkani Rakan Sanchalan central committee, will be the guests of honour. 
 
‘Koroz’ troupe of Mangalore will entertain the audience with their classic mimicry and comedy acts.
 
‘Naach Sobhann’, Mangalore, will stage their unique traditional Konkan dances.
