Mysuru: Income from temples will be spent for them alone – Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary

Daijiworld Media Network - Mysuru (SP)

Mysuru, Feb 3: State muzrai minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, clarified that income generated from Hindu temples will be spent for the developments of temples alone. He was speaking to media persons here during his visit to the city on Sunday, February 2.

"I do not know what was happening earlier. During the rule of our government, income from Hindu temples would be used for Hindu temple developments. Since the BJP rose to power in the state, financial resources from temples are being pooled and used for temple development. We do not utilize funds from Hindu temple for other religions," he stated.

Kota said that Hindu temple income will never be diverted to other religions and that government releases funds for the developments of prayer centres of minorities. He asked the people not to have any doubt on this issue.

Kota is talking as if minorities were after temple money, nor does he have any account on what instances minorities benefited from temple money.
People should ask for full account of temple money used in the State and all over the country.

    Savior of temples!!!

Mr Poojary, it happens by dafault, income from temples is used for Hindus alone.
There is no need to issue big statements in the media, unless you need publicity.
When the temple devotees contribute it is rightly meant for temples alone.

Let all the money collected by religious places (any religion) be by cheque or demand draft only, except for small denomination like Rs 1 & 2.Let all outgo of funds from places of worship be by cheque of demand draft. Digital payments allowed if Internet is working, and server is not "down".
Has anyone the guts to accept my challenge?

Government should pass a bill that incomes from all the religious places of worship should go to the government or
the income from all the religious places of worship will go to the respective places of worship.

Certain commentators here are saying that good decision Sirji etc etc. Basically they are thinking that so far the money was being used for other purposes.

To be very frank the money was being gobbled up by the bhattas and administrative committee plus the politicians. This money was never given to any other communities.

As far as I know both Muslim and Christian communities are strong enough to fend for themselves.

Now with the setting of CCTV cameras even the gulum bhattas of these temples have a tough time.

I understand you point.. Well this situation is not something that is created recently. It has been in force before independence and political party after the independence did not find it need to ammend it so that it either have all religious institutions following the same law

The funds were diverted for various reasons outside temple cause. Why would other religions boycott against this rule..

People are talking as if the money from Hindu temples are distributed/used for the welfare of non-Hindu communities. But when asked for the details, no one has the answer. Unnecessarily controversies are created.
