Modi lists BJP govt's achievements in Capital ahead of Delhi polls

New Delhi, Feb 4 (IANS): Ahead of the Assembly polls in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday listed the achievements and the work done by the central government in the national capital.

During a public meeting in Dwarka, he said that the central government is leaving no stone unturned to make Delhi more beautiful and ensure a safe and clean environment here. He also emphasised that the registration process has begun for 1700 unauthorised colonies in the national capital.

"Places such as India Gate, Red Fort, Parliament, North or South Block have been beautified. Kranti Mandir Museum dedicated to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose has been constructed at the Red Fort. A Bhavya Bharat festival is also celebrated at the Red Fort," Modi said.

He also talked about the construction of a river front at the Yamuna river.

"Besides projects for cleaning Yamuna, our government is also working on Yamuna River Front," the Prime Minister said.

"Work is underway for the Rapid Rail System. Steps have been taken to reduce travel time between Delhi and Meerut. A provision of about 2.5 thousand crore has been made in the budget for the system," he added.

"People of Delhi had been longing for the work at Eastern and Western Peripheral Expressway to be completed. After the formation of our government, the work was completed," he said.

Modi also informed about the projects for the development of Dwarka region.

"Two major projects are underway in Dwarka. Construction of Bharat Vandana Park has started. The tourists will be able to experience India's art, culture and food. A world class convention centre is being built in Dwarka," said Modi.
