Kundapur: Two-wheelers collide head-on – One dead, two serious

Kundapur, Feb 5: In a road accident which happened near the primary health centre near Hardalli Mandalli gram panchayat building on Bidkal Katte-Koteshwar main road on Tuesday, February 4 evening, a motorcycle and a scooter got involved with head-on collision. In this accident, the scooter rider lost his life on the spot, while two others who were on the motor bike suffered serious injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Suresh while the two who were seated on the motorcycle and suffered injuries are Gururaj and Sandesh.

Suresh was riding his scooter towards Koteshwar from the direction of Bidkal Katte when a motorcycle ridden by Gururaj with Sandesh on the pillion approached him from the direction of Koteshwar. It is said that the motorcycle was being driven at high speed recklessly. The motorcycle suddenly and unexpectedly swerved to the right and hit Suresh's scooter. All the three riders fell to the road. On account of the intensity of the accident, Suresh suffered serious injuries to his head and face. All the three injured were taken to Manipal hospital where the doctors confirmed that Suresh was brought dead.

Injured Sandesh and Gururaj are being treated at Manipal hospital. A case relating to this accident stands registered at Kota police station.
