Markets open on positive note on Wednesday morning


Mumbai, Feb 5 (IANS): The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) on Wednesday opened on a positive note.

The Sensex of the BSE opened at 40,921.71 points and touched a high of 40,921/71. The Sensex touched a low of 40,703.32 points.

On Tuesday, the Sensex closed at 40,789.38 points.

The Sensex was trading at 40,860.38 points up by 66.71 points or 0.16 per cent at 9.30 a.m.

The broader 50-scrip Nifty at National Stock Exchange (NSE) opened at 12,005.85 points after closing at 11,979.65 points.

The Nifty was trading at 12,001.65 points at 9.30 a.m in the morning on Wednesday.
