'Mughal rule may not be far way', warns BJP MP Tejasvi Surya

New Delhi, Feb 6 (IANS): BJP MP Tejasvi Surya said on Wednesday that the majority community has to remain vigilant or else Mughal rule will return to the country.

The MP from Bengaluru South said this in the context of the protests at Shaheen Bagh in the national capital as he slammed the anti-CAA demonstrations.

Surya was participating in the debate on motion of thanks on the President's address in the Lok Sabha.

Pointing to the ongoing protest at Shaheen Bagh against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), he said, "Unless the majority community remains vigilant, the days of Mughal Raj may not be far away."

Surya also heaped praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for resolving crucial issues which had been pending for several decades.

He added that the CAA was aimed at resolving the issues originating from Partition days and added, "The new India cannot be built without healing the wounds of the past."

Surya said that CAA will give citizenship to persecuted minorities in Pakistan, Bangaladesh and Afghanistan and is not for taking away anyone's citizenship.

Under the leadership of Modi, Surya said, several issues of the past have seen closure. These include abrogation of Article 370, construction of Ram temple, Bodo issue and abolition of Triple Talaq.

BJP MP Tejasvi Surya being professional lawyer doesn't seems to be well in history lessons.

For his knowledge the Mughal state under Akbar saw a unique experiment in Mughal-Rajput cooperation, and Amber – as the principality that sparked it – gave the Mughals their ablest commanders.

The Mughal state since Akbar was inclusive when it came to offering high offices to non-Muslims. It is significant that Rana Pratap, Shivaji and Guru Gobind Singh never fought Akbar or Aurangzeb in a direct battle. They fought either Hindu kings leading the Mughal armies or provincial governors.

It was Raja Man Singh of Amber who took on Pratap in battle. By this time, most Rajput kings had become allies of Akbar, matrimonial alliances had been established with most, and many were commanders of Mughal armies.

It was a Mughal force under the command of Man Singh of Amber that took on Rana Pratap’s force – which had an Afghan contingent under Hakim Khan Sur and a contingent drawn from the Bhil tribe – at Haldighati in 1576. The Rana could retreat to the hills to continue his fight, earning a name for himself as a man with rare courage and commitment.

Likewise Jai Singh, after whom the city of Jaipur is named, was considered very close to Aurangzeb. In 1665, and forced a treaty on the Maratha king, whereby he ceded 23 of his 35 forts to the Mughals.

Folk songs called Jallas are sung during Rajput marriages in Jaipur to this day. At least as per one influential tradition, Jalla refers to Jalaluddin Mohammad Akbar, who married Harkha Bai, a princess of Amber, an event that kicked off the Mughal-Rajput alliance. The erstwhile ruling family of Jaipur is still as “Hindu” as it gets and claims to descend from Lord Ram.

When you send your students RSS run school true history gets ignored. That was the problem with first time MP with Zero history knowledge followed by the 'Entire political science' student.

    Jai Hind

Unfortunately BJP is not acting like a Party in Power despite getting highest mandate for a single party in the last VERY MANY YEARS or decades-
They are behaving like an Opposition P --blaming MUGHALS-BRITISH-NEHRU -GANDHI etc etc rather than an action plan and the POLL PLATFORM -SAB KA SAATH etc etc which everyone fell for-- sadly second time---
BANKS -INFRASTRUCTURE- JOBS- RURAL DISTRESS WHICH ARE IN SEVERE CRISIS IS NOT OF CONSEQUENCE-
History is evidence - STORY OF INDIA -India was strong when United and weak when divided as happens in a family- Even MUGHAL PERIOD - AKBAR was known as AKBAR THE GREAT for his general tolerance/administration/ and not Aurangzeb!!

    Rahul,
Why do you lie to spoil the peaceful environment. Akbaruddin never told about 15 minutes to kill Hindus. It was different context and and not specifically referred to any Hindus. But he indeed told that clear the police force for 15 minutes and then see. But nothing like killing Hindus was mentioned.
It is normal practice of BJp to give different narrative to the issue. For example if someone criticize Nirmala Sitaraman, then BJp would turn it into the issue of Women suppression. That's how politics work.

Every now and then we see Kalladka Bhat making some controversial statements. This has been going on for years. A Cong sachiva who promised to arrest him 7 years back has not acted to this date. Similary Tejaswi too would blurt and something and we would watch as mute spectators. Siddu, Ramanatha Rai, J Poojari, J R Lobo and many other oldies of Congress want to contest election again by only making tall promises and no action,

Now that we have learned to fly in the air like birds and dive in the sea like fish. Only one thing remains to learn to live like humans on earth.

Request you all to learn at the earliest.

Mughals were dictators and they invaded and bought regions under them . They also taxed people and killed those who were against them. What is the difference today- are we not in Modified Mughal rule where we think oppression, the division between religion and castes, war with neighbours as our strength as against unity between the different castes, communities and religions. We are already in Modified -Mughal area. RIP!

20% may agree with you. But remaining 80% disagree. That is why they are electing this government with majority again and again.

Only 37 percent of the people voted for BJP. The BJP government ought to remember they do not represent 63 percent of the Indian electorate.

Only 30% of electorate voted for BJp; believing their fake promises. I think EVM is programmed for 30%.
