Udupi, Feb 7: Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje, has urged those opposing Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), to watch a video she has attached to her Twitter post.

The video is of a woman reportedly belonging to Christianity, pleading for help in Pakistan.

"The woman was reportedly raped by four men and paraded naked on the streets of the town. The only mistake they found in her that she is a Christian," said Shobha in her tweet.

Shobha has urged opponents of the said act to understand the plight of Christians, Hindus and other minorities living in Pakistan where they face persecution.

Perhaps this Udupi MP has forgotten the plight of the family of an eight-year-old girl, who was gang-raped and murdered in Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir in the temple premises by the priest of the temple along with officer in duty.
She may even forgoten the rape of our minority Christian women in Kandhmal communal riots in Odhisha.
In our own nation "The women are being burnt, shot down and raped in the country but this MP from most educated district of Karnataka maintains absolute silence," .
India, where 90 women are raped every day. Over 30,000 rape cases; only 1 in 4 convicted. In 2016, of the 3.38 lakh crime cases against women, rape cases made up 11.5% of them.There are 30 horrific rape cases that have happened in 2019 proving that nothing has changed.

But instead of raising the voice against rapes in India by its own party members, this law maker behaves more like elected member of Pakistan rather the India.

I agree that there are atrocities in India. We have to deal with them to eradicate.

But I can very well say that India is 100 times better than Pakistan to live.

Just for the sake of politics or CAA issue etc, I will not stoop to such a low by comparing India to Pakistan.

If the followers of any religion are persecuted in any country, it is the concern of that particular country. I don't think anyone else should be worried about it. Yes it is the responsibility of every country to protect its minorities. But what if that particular country is not at all concerned about the minorities? In India we have well established laws protecting the minorities provided they are fairly implemented. Whereas in our neighbouring countries there are no specific laws for the protection of minorities. Unlike India minorities are not protected by law in Pakistan. One can see mention of religion in every identification document, including passport. The ration cards issued to minorities differ in colour. Anybody speaking for minorities is shot dead. So it is the unconcern of Pakistan and Bangladesh that has compelled us to bring out CAA because the unfortunate people of these countries were once part of Greater India.

Rape does happen everywhere in the world. Infact if density is also considered, India is far better than many other countries. Statistical analysis can make you understand why Rapes are high among Asians in UK, germany etc.. it is not that whites do not rape but muslims immigrants in europe have the highest crime of rapes especially on white adolscent Girls.

It is true in Pakistan they forcibly rape and CONVERT minorities by threatening death to family. The Christians are the dalits of Pakistan and do sewage and toilet cleaning and live in their outcaste colonies outside the city

It is also true in India they forcibly rape Dalits and sometimes other minorities but at least they dont convert them .

Very correct. We have to see which is lesser evil. Blasphemy law in Pak is most notorious.
Problems are there everywhere, in western countries also racial abuses prevailing but less and law prevailing.
To test the reality, let Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan also enact our CAA like law, I am sure, minorities / Dalits from here won't go there.

What about the plight of Indian minorities, those belonging to lower castes and the poor (I am not a person who discriminates humans on their religious affiliation)

who have been persecuted by mighty Indians (these include the rich, people belonging to all religions, political parties, religious organisations, ...).

It is natural for members of BJP and its affiliates to chant Pakistan with every breath. But wouldn't it be better to focus on the plight of Indians before turning to our neighbouring countries?

In India, we have courts which will give punishment to perpetrators. In Pakisthan no lawyer takes issues of minorities as they fear for their lives. Hope you can underestand the difference. In india there are misunderstandings between Hindus & christians on conversions. In Pakisthan, it is impossible and it would amount to inviting death to go to a muslim mohalla and propogate christianity. I bet the christians there would never try this.

if you see the number of lawyers killed for taking up alleged blasphemy cases. you will be Aghast.

Nagpur Headquarters is not required to know the status of Minorities in pakisthan. There are doing menial jobs. there is no scope for a dignified life for them. The number of girls kidnapped and forecefully married are documented in western media also.

You go to internet to understand their plight. In Pakisthan Hindus cannot afford a Shaheen Bagh with muslims vociferously supporting their cause. this happens in india as Hindus are magnanimous and take the plight of minorities as their own.
