Mangaluru, Feb 8: The management and staff of Daijiworld Media Group felicitated Padma Shri awardee Harekala Hajabba at Daijiworld corporate office situated at Bondel on Friday, February 7.

Alexis Castelino, managing director, Daijiworld 24x7 TV, Ronald Nazreth, H R director, Daijiworld Media, Ashith Pinto, production director, and Chandrashekar Aribail, bureau head, Daijiworld TV, were present on the dais.

In his felicitation speech Alexis said, “Hajabba is the best example for how a common man can achieve heights and reach the goal with dedication and sacrifice. He is called respectfully as ‘Akshara Santa’. Hajabba’s life itself is a message to all of us. Hajabba seems to have understood the phenomenon in-depth and so did not fail to take a major step when he realized the significance of education in one’s life. First, he understood the importance of education in life, and then he explained it to the world by constructing a school by selling oranges.”

Thanking Daijiworld for the felicitation Hajabba said, “Media has played an important role in my life. They took me from a village to Padma Shri award. I am a simple and local man. But media recognized me and introduced me to the world. Today, everyone knows me. Through Daijiworld, I want to thank all who supported and helped me.”
