Mangalore, Oct 23 (DHNS):
Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district Muslim Central Committee President and former MLC K S Mohammed Masood has stated that there is nothing called ‘Love Jehad’ in Islam, and the one creating headlines in media is just a creation of vested interests.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he said the entire Muslim community has been shocked at the word “Love Jehad” and it wonders from where the concept cropped up. “There are communal interests behind the plot to spoil the image of Muslims who do not tolerate their progress. A section of media is cooperating with them,” he alleged. “There have been no forcible conversions to Islam also. Islam does not encourage forcible conversions. Even though somebody voluntarily wants to be converted into Islam, there is a legal process,” he said. Masood said if at all some Muslims are involved in plots like Love Jehad, they should be punished. Even though the police heads of both Karnataka and Kerala have stated that there has been nothing called Love Jehad in their states, some vested interests are creating a turmoil, he added.

The Muslum Central Committee will be organising a convention in this connection in November with the participation of religious leaders, heads of educational institutions and intellectuals, he informed.

Bantwal incident

The Committee member Hamid Kandak said one Anitha from Bantwal was missing for some time and it had been alleged that she had been converted by Love Jehad activists.

“There was even a protest in front of Bantwal police station on October 11. But now police themselves have revealed that Anitha was murdered by serial killer Mohan Kumar who was arrested on Wednesday. This incident itself shows how strategically Muslims are being targeted,” he said.

Hello civilians of Karnataka, this just game of the ruling party to make some unrest between the religions, nothing else! Our chief minister doesn’t have other activities than making people panic.

Its a good move from Muslim Central Committee to clear the doubts of general public. I would like to bring to our muslim brothers notice that when some division of the Hindu's create a baseless turmoil, it is not necessary to consider the opinion of all Hindus.

Belated, but it is good that the Central Committee has clarified the whole issue of "Love Jehad" which is definitely a creation of vested interest, and this has been exposed by the Bantwal incident. While Police authorities in Karnatak and Kerala States have said that there is nothing called Love Jehad, our honourable government is making it an issue by saying that they are taking steps to counter Love Jehad Movement, instead of investigating and coming out with the facts in order to avoid any possible unrest. It became necessary for the High Court to intervene and tell the government what they should. Waht a pity.

Muslim Central Committee, this is not the time for press statement, this is the time for action and protect the Muslim youths from the trap by Saffron brigades.
