Mangalore, Oct 24: Ullal police arrested a man and seized stolen goods and cash to the tune of Rs 1.5 lac from him on Friday October 23. These were stolen from several places within the station limits.

The arrested person has been identified as Seetharama Shetty, resident of Kundakka in Bantwal taluk. He was nabbed by police while trying to sell a stolen mobile phone in Ullal.

Shetty has confessed to two incidents of theft—one at Moonlight Restaurant and another from a house in Ullal limits.

From the restaurant, he stole Rs 11,500 in cash, Rs 2,000 in coins, which were meant as a temple offering, and two mobile phones, after breaking open the back door.

He stole nine gold rings, four gold bangles, and one mobile phone from the residence. Shetty is wanted in several other cases across stations in the district.

Ullal sub-inspector Saifulla and his team conducted the investigation and registered a case after recovering the stolen goods.

Robbery has been increasing in Mangalore because police do not register robbery cases and ask the complainant to give a statement saying that the things are missing. This decreases the number of reported crimes in the register. At the same time the small thief goes scot free and becomes bolder and bigger with every robbery. Well Done Sub Inspector. Please take every complaint and register it and keep your men on their feet and citizens safe.

Mr. Kukkikatte, do not try to take lease of life from incidents. Survey crimes committed across India /World and tell 90% are from your gang. Try to trace the reason and then comment. Before taking any community asses yourself

Mr Tilak Shetty/Mahendra Shetty, Can we now admit that there are black sheeps in every community and its unfair to blame an entire community for the misdeeds done by a member of that community. Will it not hurt you guys, if anyone by reading this article says that all "shettys/bunts" are anti social?.. The answer is certainly not. Anti socials/criminals/terrorists are black sheeps and they dont have religion and I am sure you will agree with me at least now.
