Mangalore: Policemen Likely to Seek Extension of Serial Killer's Custody

Mangalore, Oct 27: The policemen so far, have been able to get confirmation that Mohan Kumar, serial killer in the facade of a gentleman, was the culprit involved with 15 murders out of the 19 he has been accused of, so far. As his police custody will end on Tuesday October 27, the department is likely to produce him in the court and seek extension of custody today, as they are yet to complete the investigations. It is learnt that the policemen have the option to plead for the extension of his police custody separately, relating to individual cases.

On Saturday, the policemen had taken Mohan Kumar to Tokkottu, from where, they confiscated gold ornaments of the girls he had killed, found pledged with a a private financier there. He was taken to Hassan on Sunday, as he had confessed to have murdered two women, Yashoda from Madantyar, Beltangady and Anita from Barimar, Bantwal, in Hassan bus stand. Yashoda was killed on July 17, while Anita was murdered on September 24.

The policemen found that he had given different names and surnames while checking in the lodges and also while communicating with different people. Although his name as per records, is Mohan Kumar,  he claimed himself to be Anand, Anand Mogera, Sundar Rai, Ramesh, Sudhakar Poojary, Sudhakar Bhandary, Sudhakar Kulal, Rajesh, Manoj, Chandrashekhar etc.
