Panaji, Oct 31:
The 52 candidates selected by the Goa Public Service Commission for the grade – I teachers posts and education officers posts called off their hunger strike following the Chief Minister Digambar Kamat’s written assurance to resolve the issue at the earliest.

The candidates were on indefinite hunger strike in front of the Captain of Ports Jetty here after the Goa government failed to give them appointment letters even after the end of an academic year.

CM sent his message through the education minister Atanasio Monserrate, who later convinced them to withdraw their indefinite strike.
