Udupi, Feb 22: Thanushree Pithrody, Yoga Rathna awardee, has successfully created fifth world record by performing ' Fastest 100 meter Chakrasana race' in 1.14.48 min on Saturday, February 22, at Udyavar gram panchayat ground here.
Dr Manish Bishnoy, head of Golden Book of World Records, handed over the certificate to Thanushree.
Addressing the gathering, he said, “Thanushree is a ‘golden girl’ and has created hatrick world records. She has broken previous six minute record created by Sameeksha Dogra from Himachal Pradesh. She is a wonder girl at the age of 10 years. Her body is so flexible and I was surprised by her performance. Literally, I was running behind her. Because of her sincere effort and hard work, she was able to achieve this task.”

Thanushree after receiving the award said, “I put my best effort to reach this level. I would like to thank my parents, teacher and all who supported me. This is my 400th stage show. I am so happy making this achievement.”
Her father Uday Kumar said, “She used to practice day and night on our roof top. The space over there was congested, but she still got her name registered in Golden Book of World Record. At a tender age, we have taught her with the help of YouTube videos. She is now getting trained under Ramakrishna Kodancha. Let she is a model to Karnataka. As parents, we are overwhelmed and speechless. She is a proud daughter of us and Udupi as well. Her effort will continue and we will keep supporting her all activities.”
Former minister Pramod Madhwaraj congratulated her and said, “Sky is the limit for her. She is a dynamic, blessed, innocent, simple, and humble. We are very small in front of her number of achievements. All Gods have blessed her. She will achieve even more history in days to come.”
Jayakar Shetty Indrali, managing director of Badagubettu Credit Cooperative society Udupi, Geethanjali Suvarna, zilla panchayat member, Sugandhi Shekar, president, Udyavar gram panchayat, Nagesh Udyavar, Ramakrishna Kodancha, Yoga teacher, Sr Preethi, principal of St Cecily's school Udupi, Uday Kumar, businessman and others were present.
RJ Errol compered the programme.
Hundreds of people witnessed Thanushree create the world record and wished her. They captured the historical moment by taking selfies with her.

I think she can try in 100 meters running too. She may strike gold there too. Thanushree we are proud of you my child. God bless you.
