Beltangady, Nov 4: If timely measures are not implemented the unplanned industrialization in the region is sure to lead us into a disaster, said Varadesh Hiregange, professor of mass communication and journalism department in Manipal University.

Speaking on the topic region’s growth and decline at the seminar on Tulu history, culture and tradition organized by Tuluvara Parbada Koodukatta at Gurunarayana Sabhabhavana here on Tuesday November 3 as part of Tuluva Habba. No industries should be set up without studying the carrying capacity of this region, he said.

Rapid industrialization has also led to in depth deliberation on the subject, he added. Thinker Laksmeesha Tolpady presided. Nagarika Seva Trust president Somnath Nayak was present.
