Mangalore, Nov 7: District Congress Committee (DCC) holding a protest march against BJP led state government on Saturday November 7 urged the Governor of the state to intervene and take up necessary action to help the flood victims as well as for smooth administration
The protest march led by former union minister B Janardan Poojary, B Ramanatha Rai, president of DCC and State Youth Congress president Krishna Byre Gowda started from light house hill here and ended in front of the deputy commissioner’s office.
Addressing the rally, B Janardana Poojary said that the state government has become a place of unethical political activity. While the Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa is struggling to retain his power and on the other side the Reddy group is planning to pull CM down. So the all MLAs and ministers are involved in meetings to save the government and have completely neglected the flood relief works, which should have be given a high priority.
The power crisis in BJP is not unexpected and was predicted earlier at the time when it came to power, said Poojary. He added that the coming days will give a befitting reply to the BJP and people who supported the party that was behind violent attacks on churches and minority community.
Poojary also said that the people who voted for BJP are answerable as the ministers and MLAs are wasting their time in resorts when the people of north Karnataka are in streets or toiling hard due to effects of the flood.
Mulki-Moodbidri MLA Abhayachandra Jain, Mangalore MLA U T Khader, Vijayakumar Shetty, Arun Coelho, Naveen D’Souza, Dolphy Prashanth D’Souza and Harikrishna Bantwal, Congress leaders among others were present.
