Mangalore: Two-day Fancy Fete-09 at Urwa Church Ground Inaugurated

Mangalore, Nov 7: The two-day event, Fancy Fete-09 was inaugurated at Urva Church ground on Saturday November 7 by Parish Priest of Immaculate Conception Church, Fr Victor D Mello. The fun-filled fest has been organized in aid for medical needs and also to celebrate the annual day of establishment of parish.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr Victor D’Mello said that this is a great event that serves the poor. The noble cause behind the event is helping the poor, which has received support of many. The funds raised by this fete will also be utilized to offer medical help to the poor students and needy public.
The fete includes stalls at church ground, where the consumer items are exhibited. The organizing committee has decided to make this event completely entertaining by also holding special cultural performances by students as well as artistes enjoying national repute. The fancy fete will conclude on November 8.
Fr Roopesh Madtha, assistant parish priest, Kevin Martis, vice-president of organizing committee and Jossy D Souza, secretary of the committee, Prescilla D’Souza, headmistress of St Aloysius English Medium School, Preethi Nayak, president of teachers and parents’ association, Hilary Frank D’Souza, headmaster of Pompei high school, Icinthiya D’Souza, headmistress of St Aloysius Primary School, Urwa, Ivan Monteiro, head of the volunteers team and students Bipin, Nishith and Aidan joined the inaugural of the fete.
The parish priest and other guests welcomed all the stall owners by giving them flowers. Nearly 55 stalls were installed by several companies including banks, electronic companies and automobiles among others. There are stalls hosting lucky games to entertain the visitors.
