Bengaluru, Mar 1: Coronavirus that has taken the world by storm, has claimed thousands of lives and doctors are clueless as yet about the treatment method for this disease. People and businesses have suffered heavily, production has hit, and countries have been taking measures to stop this dreaded disease from entering their soil.

The education department in the state too has been taking necessary measures to stop spread of this virus. According to reports in a section of the media, the department of public instruction has issued instructions to all the schools, mandating them to grant compulsory leave to students suffering from fever symptoms. This leave has to be continued till the fever symptoms subside. The student should be allowed to attend school only after he or she gets treated and the fever is cured, the department has said.

The department is said to have taken this step to provide relief to other children and parents from the apprehension about contracting the disease.

Not only the students, even teaching and non-teaching staff of tihe schools have to go on leave as soon as fever symptoms appear, reports said. The department has advised the schools to ask those having fever to get treated and attend school only after they are cured. Even in the case of students staying in hostels, the sick students should be kept in separate sections, and the suffering students should be properly treated. They should be allowed to get involved with others only after they are completeiy healed, the department said.
