Panaji, Nov 10: Veteran singer Sudesh Bhonsle has voiced his concern against the reality shows which renders short lived glamour for the budding talents.

“These budding talents should be allowed to learn and practice. This cannot be not done through competitions,” Bhosle, who was recently down in Goa for a function told reporters.

The singer, who has his family deity at Shiroda in Goa, often visits the state.

Interacting with the media informally, Bonsle opined that after getting into reality shows within six months the children feel that they are stars.

“While participating in the reality shows, they bunk the schools which can affect their future. They lose the studies,” he said.

The singer said that those children who cannot make it up to the success in these reality shows can go in the shell facing inferiority complex. “There are instances wherein even parents don’t take the defeat sportingly,” he added.

The singer, who was a famous mimicry artist before stunning the audience with his singing skill, appealed parents `not to be dependent on reality shows.’

“No one can become star overnight. One needs to learn step by step. Even if you hog limelight overnight, the glamour does not continue for long. No singer should leave his regular practice,” Bhonsle adviced.

The singer, who was widely appreciated for mimicking Amitabh Bachchan, said that children must be encouraged to participate in the stage shows to get rid of stage fear.
