Udupi: Rough Weather: Fishermen Cautioned

Udupi, Nov 11: Fishermen in Udupi district have been advised not to venture into the sea for the next 48 hours because of inclement weather.

The control room at the Deputy Commissioner’s office said on Tuesday that it had received a warning from the Met Department that squally winds with speeds of 55 to 65 km an hour and gusting up to 75 km an hour were likely along the coast during the next 48 hours. The sea would be rough to very rough. Udupi received a rainfall of 43 mm in the 24 hours that ended at 8.30 a.m. on Tuesday. Karkala and Kundapur taluks received 35.2 mm and 37.8 mm rainfall.
