Mysuru, Mar 6: In a macabre incident which happened at Mysuru, unknown miscreants murdered a BJP leader from the city at his birthday party before making good their escape. The incident happened in an apartment complex at Kuvempunagar here. The murdered leader happens to be S Anand, who was vice president of BJP Mysuru city Slum Morcha.

Anand was celebrating his birthday on Thursday. The party was in an apartment near Lavakusha Park in Kuvempunagar when he was killed all of a sudden.

Anand also happened to be a rowdy sheeter. In the past he was involved with real estate and finance business. About 13 years ago, he had been jailed as an accused relating to the murder case of Kumaraswamy on Maruti Tent Road, Janatanagar here.

The police suspect that this could be a revenge killing for the said murder. City police commissioner, Dr Chandragupta, visited the spot and guided investigation. Kuvempunagar police have registered the case and taken up investigation.
