Udupi: Renovated Shirur Mutt Inaugurated

Udupi, Nov 12: Preparations are in full swing for the ascension of Sri Lakshmivarateertha Swamiji of Shirur Mutt to the Paryaya seat in January next year. On Wednesday November 11, Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt inaugurated the renovated Shirur Mutt.
Later, Sri Vidyasagarateertha Swamiji of Krishnapur Mutt inaugurated Lakshmi Samudrateertha Auditorium, while Sri Vishwaprasannateertha, junior Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt, inaugurated the museum. Sri Vidyavallabhateertha Swamiji of Kaniyur Mutt inaugurated ‘Sri Vittal’ guest house, while Sri Vishwavallabhateertha Swamiji of Sode Vadiraja Mutt inaugurated the music and recording studio.
In his address, Pejawar Swamiji said that the Mutts belong to all sections of the society and that all the Mutts are expected to serve and support all classes of people. He said that the renovated Shirur Mutt, which has been transformed into a religious and cultural centre, has come as a unique gift to this temple town.
Sri Vidyasagarateertha Swamiji said that Shirur Mutt has always been known for providing food and education to the masses, and expressed happiness at the fact that the Mutt continues stick to these ideals. Sri Lakshivarateertha Swamiji of Shirur Mutt said that he had since long, nurtured the dream of beautifying his Mutt. He said he was happy at being able to realize this dreams and make a small contribution towards the concept of ‘Beautiful Udupi’.
Several dignitaries, including MLA Raghupati Bhat, and entrepreneur, Pramod Madhwaraj, participated in the event.
