Tumkur, Nov 12: In a shocking development, a man from Tumbadi village in Koratagere taluk in the district, surrendered to the policemen on Wednesday 11, and confessed to have killed his two children two months back.

Ramanjanappa (38), a mason by profession, told the policemen that he had killed his children, Umesh (11) and Mahesh (9), by pushing them into a well located in the fields by the side of Nittur tank, while coming back after visiting Chunchanagiri Hills. He said that he peeped into the well three days later and found the bodies floating. To ensure that the bodies stay under water, he claimed, he tied boulders to the bodies with the help of some vines found nearby and threw them into the well again.

His wife had gone to her parents’ home a few months ago, and her brothers had been pestering him to send his children to live with their mother. Angered by this insistence, he claimed, he had become tense and resorted to this macabre act.

The policemen thereafter, took out the decomposed bodies of the children from the well. Gubbi circle inspector, H Srinivas, has registered a case. Investigations are on.
