Mangalore: Vishwa Vaidya Ayurvedashram Conducts ‘Care and Cure Madhumeha Camp’

Mangalore, Nov 14: On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, Vishwa Vidya Ayurvedashram has organized a ‘Care and Cure Madhumeha Camp’ at the premises of its hospital in Vamanjoor here, from Saturday November 14 to November 20.

Diabetes has been identified as one of the most chronic health problems affecting all the countries in the globe. Diabetes has the potential to develop into several ailments like chronic kidney failure (requiring repetitive dialysis), neuropathy, visual loss (due to retinopathy), heart attack, paralysis, gangrene of the foot, sexual dysfunction, etc.  All these things continue to inflict sufferings on the people, in spite of the fact that these can be prevented before their onset.  Ayurveda being the ancient method of healing, prevention and cure is explained well in the texts of Ayurveda and if practised, diabetes can be prevented and controlled, a release by the Ayurvedashram said.

Ayurveda has several treatment methods for controlling diabetes, including pathya apathya, panchakarma therapies, dinacharya and ritucharya.  The immunity boosting methods, which are unique to Ayurveda alone, are very effective in controlling diabetes.  This is proved by those who have practised and followed Ayurveda system of medical treatment. Managing diabetes as per Ayurveda procedures varies from person to person, depending on the prakruthi, dosha, dooshya, sathwa, saathmya, desha, bala, kaala, anala of the individual.  In addition, Pranayama, Yoga therapy, Naadha (music) therapy, Mudhra therapy, Reikhi and accupressure therapies can be combined to enhance the effect of the treatment.

The camp participants will be offered a discount of 50% on foot care (ayurvedic pedicure), obesity control, treatment and special massage for diabetic neuropathy, panchakarma and other diabetic related treatments / therapies at Vishwa Vaidya Ayurvedashram for one week from November 14.  Consultation and diet counselling will free for all camp participants, said Dr Srilatha Shetty, medical director of the Ayurvedashram, in  the said release.
