Dubai, Mar 13: Expressing solidarity with China over the coronavirus pandemic, the iconic UAE landmarks were lit up for the second time in six weeks.
On February 12, the landmark buildings, including Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building in Dubai, and ADNOC headquarters in Abu Dhabi, were dressed in the colours of the Chinese national flag.
Few of the buildings displayed messages reflecting the deep friendship between both nations. One of the messages quoted a famous Chinese poetic verse, "As long as you have a true friend, he is very close even though he is far away."
The UAE has expressed confidence that China will be able to contain and control the spread of the novel coronavirus. The illuminated buildings with messages of solidarity also reflect the UAE’s commitment to the international community’s efforts to contain the Covid-19.
