Mangaluru: Environmentalists tear up flexes, blacken MP Nalin's picture

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Mar 17: Agitated at the fact that some plants were cut for blocking some hoardings erected near Kadri Park in the city, environmentalists, on Monday March 16 night, tore down several flexes in the area.

Branches of three plants had been cut off as they blocked the view of some flexes. This angered the activists of National Environment Conservation Federation (NCEF) who tore up two huge flexes erected nearby. They also directed their ire at a flex set up to greet leaders.

NECF convener Shashidhaar Shetty, said that six flexes in the city have been torn off. He said that the activists have smeared black paint on the photo of MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, on a nearby flex and written, 'Jai Netravati' on it. "We will blacken the MP's photo in flexes and advertisement hoardings. We are also tearing up the flexes of people who set up unauthorized flexes and unnecessarily cut down trees," he stated.

He pointed out that Nalin Kumar Kateel had initially opposed Yettinahole project. "Nalin got people's votes in the name of god, Daiva, and River Netravati. Now, with an eye on commission, he has overlooked these things, which is condemnable. We do not need such an MP, and we are not in need of his flexes too," he said angrily.

why only one face is blackened...all faces on the hoarding should have been completely blackened...it is a great tragedy and shame to our Buddhivanthara jille that 'public figures/representatives' and wannabe netas do not know the value of trees and plants...what good can be expected from these insensitive and egoistic people who will go to any extent in pursuit of publicity for their faces...

“The entire universe is to be looked upon as the Lord.”- Upanishad

But this BJP's personification has least respect for Ether, air, fire, water, earth, planets, all creatures, directions, trees and plants, rivers and seas, they are all organs of God’s body. Remembering this a devotee respects all species.

Mangaloreans are very decent people. That is why they have just blackened this wolf's face.

If it was somewhere in UP, they would have urinated on his face. And he fully deserves this.

Nalin had us believe that he is against the Yettinahole project but it did not take him long to switch sides. What is the use of having such public representatives who do not care for the welfare of the people. Caring for the environment is tantamount to caring for the people. He had no business whatsoever to have the greenery cut to accomodate the hoardings. Shame on such people. I condemn the MP's behaviour and fully support the environmentalists. The next time he stands for elections, people should remember this and consign him to history.
