Mangalore: Dr C Jairaj Gets Best Innovator Award

Mangalore, Nov 20: Dr C Jairaj Kumar of K S Hegde Medical Academy, Deralakatte here, was recently conferred with the ‘Philips Best Innovator’ award by the Base of Pyramid (BoP) organization. 



The international recognition was given for the development of a new electronic instrument device prognosis of the diabetic foot. The product was based on a six-year study of the application of ‘chaos’ theory into laboratory investigation technologies. Dr Jairaj’s original research paper, coauthored with Dr Arunachalam Kumar, also of KSHEMA, had earlier received two international and one national award.

The paper had earlier been published in an internationally indexed medical journal.
