Udupi, Nov 26: In a tragic incident occurred at Mulkad near Hebri here on Tuesday November 24, a wife killed her husband by hitting on his head with a hammer while he was asleep after consuming alcohol.
The deceased has been identified as Aravind Shety (50). His wife, the accused, Vedavathi Shetty (45) has been taken into police custody. The accused has confessed that she killed her husband unable to bear the harassment meted out.
After killing her husband she had informed her neighbours that her husband was seriously ill and needed to be admitted to hospital. However, later she confessed to murder during the police interrogation.
A case has been registered as per the complaint lodged by the brother of the deceased, Karunakar Shetty.
