Udupi, Nov 29: Congress and Telugudesam Party have indulged themselves in hate politics, said tourism minister B Janardhana Reddy.

Speaking to reporters on his visit to Shrikrishna Mutt here, Reddy said that Chandrababu Naidu was a very cheap politician and that, “I need not learn anything from him.” Reddy was replying to a query about the insistence by the above parties along with the left parties for a CBI inquiry into illegal mining.

Reddy said that there is no truth in illegal mining allegations. The High Court has already come down heavily on the allegations by Andhra Pradesh government. We are abiding by the law and there is no room for illegality in our dealings, he added. Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has already clarified that CBI inquiry will not be sought in this regard, he stressed.

CM has already responded to lokayukta’s report wherein 35 cases of illegal mining has been made note of. An FIR on this basis too has been filed. However, it is a different matter that a stay order has been obtained against the same. After the Lokayukta report, no new licesnses have been provided for mining and hence the term ‘illegal mining’ does not hold goof, he said.

Expressing confidence on BJP wresting seats in the upcoming legislative council elections, Reddy added sarcastically that it was always known that Congress- JD (S) always had a secret alliance, which has now finally come out in open.
