New Delhi, Mar 31: The central government, by way of clarification issued on Monday March 30, said that the financial year 2019-20 will end on March 31, 2020, and that it has not extended it.
Taking serious view of fake news appearing in a section of the media about the financial year having been extended, the finance ministry asserted that no such change has been brought about.
The finance ministry said that it has not extended the financial year.
It observed that some sources are wrongly quoting certain other ammendments brought to the Indian Stamps Act on March 30 by of notification to construe that the current financial year has been extended.
