Karwar, Apr 15: Two doctors who were trained to treat patients infected with coronavirus have fled from the hospital, as they were fearful about treating the infection. This incident was reported from INHS Patanjali Hospital at the naval base here.

Patanjali Hospital has six patients with coronavirus infection. Two doctors duly trained were deployed to the hospital for treating these patients. It is said that the two doctors left, duly saying that they would return after parking their cars. They did not return and also switched off their cellphones, it is learnt.

The Zilla panchayat chief executive officer R Roshan, has served notices to the doctors seeking their explanation for this behaviour. In the notice he also warned that if they fail to reply to the notice within a week, stringent action would be taken against them, duly taking this incident as a dereliction of duty.
