Mangalore: St Aloysius 1977 Batch Reunion on Jan 3
Media Release
Mangalore, Dec 18: To relive the joy and happiness one’s parents and loved ones experienced when we came in as toddlers into this world, we celebrate our birthdays. On the other hand, to relive the days we spent in school as classmates, what other better way can we celebrate it – of course by having a reunion!
The idea initially struck one of the ’77 classmates Manohar Nayak when he was reading Ian Fleming’s book on Harvard Reunion. It is a fact that only towards end-July this year Manohar Nayak & Loyola Pinto sat down and glimpsed through the photos of St. Aloysius Classmates of 1977 and said “Why don’t we have a reunion?” Lo and behold! Within an incredible record short span of three months most of the classmates were unearthed, and by garnering the help of many other classmates both in Mangalore and some others scattered around the globe, the idea of having the reunion after a gap of 33 long years has indeed become a reality.
The classmates of 10th D & E Section of St. Aloysius High School, Mangalore of the year 1977 are having their reunion on Sunday 3rd January 2010. The classmates have many innovative ideas so that we indeed have a good time. We plan to gather first at our own St. Aloysius High School in our school uniform, meet & greet the Head Masters past and present, walk/run down the corridors, plant a sapling in memory of the Class of 77, walk down the steps to primary school, plant a sapling there and board and travel by school bus and spend the whole day as school kids at classmate Nitin Shetty’s Farm house. The Reunion is sure to bring out a lot of nostalgic memories as classmates.

The ’77 classmates are all geared-up to have a grand celebration with the intention of making it a memorable occasion, to be etched in our memory for a lifetime while humming the song- “Yeh dosti hum nahin chodenge”. A well-chalked out programme is on the cards for the whole day, which of course includes live music (by our own musicians),dance and games. We have tried our level best to rope in all classmates & already have a confirmed list of attendees of 70 classmates in hand. Apart from classmates in India, we have classmates traveling from Burundi(Africa), USA, Gulf, Canada, Australia…etc for this reunion. If you are one of those very few from 10th D&E 1977 batch who is not yet traced or connected with our Google Group, then please contact any of your classmates below:
