Mangalore: Contests at St Aloysius High School Bring Out Christmas Spirit in Participants

Mangalore, Dec 19: A number of teams participating in the Christmas bounty celebrations enjoyed the spirit of the carol singing contest organized by St Aloysius High School in association with ‘Namma TV’ channel on Friday December 18.

The ‘Grand Christmas Carols Contest’ and ‘Grand Christmas Star’ were held on the school grounds.

A total of 12 teams from various parishes and colleges in the district participated in the carols contest. St Aloysius College won the first prize while St Agnes came in second. Vamanjoor parish won the third prize.

























Out of 30 contestants in the Christmas star contest, Maria Pinto won the first prize. Movin Pinto won the second prize and Lesly Steven Cardoza came in third.  

In each category, first prize winners were awarded Rs 5,000 while second prize was Rs 3,000 and third prize was Rs 2,000. 

Headmaster of the high school Fr Melvin Pinto and Suresh Rao Kokkada, marketing director, Namma TV, presented awards to the winners. 

Popular music group of the city, ‘Judha Band’ with its popular artists, performed ‘Jingle Bells’ and ‘Baila’ with a blend of Konkani and Western songs.

    @Roshan, Vamanjoor... This competition was not an inter parish one... So there is no need that competitors should belong to a particular parish... There is no need to get registered in Vamanjoor Parish. Feel proud that a group has won a prize under the name Vamanjoor Church... By the way, the other singers also belong to different parishes...

    I was there at Competition only young Generation achieved this really hip hip hurray for all your generation. We need to promote young generation rather than hearing old Voice’s every day every time from past many years We need to say bye bye to old type writers and welcome to new Laptops !!!!

    Dear All, It is a great Pleasure to announce that our beloved friend Mr Savil and Vinola Mascarenhas lead Coir group got 3 rd Prize in Carrol's singing Competition. Really God blessed them with a beautiful Voice We need such Young Talents.
